Describing Maintenance Responsibilities After Installation: Keeping the Scope Clear
Discuss ongoing care while the landscape proposal is being considered. A finished layout and the arrangements for looking after it should be part of the same conversation.
Explain your expectations
Describe which gardening or lawn tasks you intend to manage and which you want discussed separately. Avoid relying on a broad request for easy maintenance. Explain the practical arrangement you have in mind so that the proposal can respond to it.
Ask about the handoff
Request a description of the care information that will accompany the agreed work. Ask which instructions relate to new planting or materials and which responsibilities begin at handoff. Keep unanswered questions visible instead of assuming that every detail will appear later.
Separate later services
If further maintenance is being considered, ask for its scope to be described independently from installation. Record which tasks and areas it concerns. Do not treat an installation quote as an ongoing maintenance agreement unless that work is expressly included.

Keep the next decision clear
Where more than one person is involved in decisions, circulate the same current brief. Mark optional ideas separately from agreed work and keep written clarifications with the proposal they concern.
